The alarms only acknowledgement that it is armed is the light on the dash.
No chirps, horn beeps or other lights.

When the doors are unlocked without the remote or proper disarm (with key)
it still wont do anything until there is an attempt to start the vehicle.

The car has a starter cutoff so it wont start and the horn will honk and the lights will flash.

I dont know about switching from vehicle to vehicle but most likely the car is prewired for it.
