Is the mast broke? If it is the mast that is broke and not the cable, you do not have to take the antenna apart to replace the mast. (1) Take the top nut off the fender mount (2)turn on the radio so the motor runs and sends the mast up. (3) pull the mast out along with the attached cable (4)have someone help you, to run the radio. (5) with the radio turned on and the antenna motor stopped, stick the new cable into the antenna (6) turn the radio off and the antenna motor will start running. (7) the antenna will be pulled down into the fender. (8) replace the top nut- antenna may be sticking out some. (9) run the antenna up and down a couple of times, and there you go.
