I might be too late, but I'd STAY AWAY from a 1999 or 2000 model. Reliability is just not what you expect from Volvo. I bought a '99 S80 T6, and the car has had more problems than I'd care to share but I'll touch on a few: front suspension parts need to be replaced, surging/fuel pump problems, rear seat belts don't work, bumper trim has already faded, interior trim is cheap, exterior trim is falling off. But the thing that maddens me is that the dealers just seem to have no idea that these models have any problems whatsover....like I said.....just not a Volvo anymore to me. I've had an '85 240 and a '94 940. I absolutely loved them both. Maybe we can blame Ford.
