I have been a Volvo owner my entire life. I'm the Volvo guy that freaked at the sight of a front wheel drive Volvo. I have owned an '84 760 turbodiesel, '86 760 turbo, and still have my 1990 740 16 valve. Needless to say the 8 valve 760 turbo was the best of the lot. I recently bought my wife a '99 V70 XC. My wife's father owns a Toyota dealer. Needless to say, it was a contoversial decision. I bought the car with 52,000 miles in Oct of 2002 and it know has 70,000 in May of 2003. Like many other 1999 V70 owners my ETS system is beginning to fail. I just found out that this could be (close to) a $1000 repair. My wife is going to freak and my father-in-law is going to laugh. He was going to sell me a 1998 Avelon at cost. I should have bought the stupid rice burner.
Can anyone restore my confidence in Volvo?
