Honestly... S80

The S80's motor is the the 6-cylinder version of the 5 that's in your XC. Turbos aren't an issue, Volvo has been doing this for over 20 years. The known issues include the GM transmission and the unbelievable complexity of the electrical system. It's a good car to LEASE new for 3 years (and then return), but I can imagine it would become a nightmare long before it approached 253,000 miles.

For the same price range as the '00-01 S80 I'd suggest looking at a NEW 2003 240hp Honda Accord V6 EX-L 4-door (leather seats) which was described in one comparison road test as having more of a German "feel" than the German car in the test, the VW Passat. It performs better on IIHS crash tests than the S60 or 850 Volvos, and comes with both side and head airbags. Seat heaters, too. And I'm confident that it will be running better after 253,000 miles than an S80. (If it came in a wagon version with the 6-speed, I'd buy one in a flash....)
