If there is a known quality problem with 1999 and 2000 cars that has not been fixed, then that problem would be reflected in the price. The sales data should show a significant drop in price for 1999 and 2000 cars, relative to other models holding condition and milage more or less constant. It ain't there my friend.
As I said before, I took the time to weed through the archives of the volvo boards. And there were a small group of individuals who kept popping up again and again. I'm not trying to say those individuals didn't have a problem with their cars. Any maker, whether Benz, Volvo, Kia or Bentley can produce a car with several problems. Whether it is a systemic problem is quite another question. So far I don't see the vast numbers of S80's with numerous serious ongoing problems. I do however see a lot of them on the road.
