Braking performance in wet weather 2000

The operator's manual that came with the 69 MGB (among others, no doubt) recommeded gentle pressure on the brake pedal every so often during wet weather to keep the brakes dry. This is not a phenomenon unique to Volvo, nor even to the British cars. One of the lessons that I was taught in drivers ed concerned the effect of moisture on brakes. Yes, I did take the course in a Rambler American, but the students that got the Ford Falcon got the same lesson...
