S80....slightly different from 850s S80

Careful, you are getting some confusing advice. Do not disconnect the lower hose. See my reply to Frank.

Re: the internal filter. Volvo never mentions that as a maintenance item. Even when they talk about flushing the tranny for severe use (taxis, towing, etc.) they never mention the filter. I have used the posted S80 method myself and lots of folks are using it without problems. I should point out for our friends who can buy 5 cyl S80s, that this procedure is for 6 cyl (GM tranny) only.
