Random click from behind the driver's kick panel

I've notice recently on my 99 C70 a random click-click.....click....click-click-click noise when the car is in motion. I believe it's triggered by shifts in the weight of the car and/or bumps. What is that noise and how can I stop it?!!? I removed the kick panel and I didn't notice anything unusual....
