Removing 3rd seat on 855 850 1995

Hi, All!

Three weeks ago we purchased a very nicely maintained '95 855 with 110,000 miles and a 5 speed (that's what clinched it). After 9 years of ownership of a menagerie of 240s, this one is *quite* a car! However, it came with a third seat, which I have absolutely no use for; I'd much rather travel with my tools in that space as I've done with my various 245s. I see that the rear half of the seat assembly simply lifts right out to access the spare tire well, but does the forward half come free simply as well? If so, does anyone want to swap my third seat assembly for just their plain carpeted panels? I imagine the belts would complicate this a bit, but I thought I'd ask...
