Electrical Question for a Volvo Tech! Help! 850 1994

If not turbo, in '94 socket 6 is ignition but it's unlikely that you could have done any damage by plugging the pin in. You might have gone into activation mode by accident and activated something causing the noise. Try reading/clearing any codes from that pin and from pin 2 (fuel).
