How about some good news? S80 2000

Thanks, Fred, nice to hear someone else out there is happy with their S80.

I suppose it's all a matter of perspective. I've owned some pretty crappy cars in my life:

- 1978 Ford Granada...words wouldn't do justice to the grief of owning that car.

- 1982 Camaro Berlinetta that couldn't get out of it's own way, terrible transmission, fit and finish were very bad. You name it; it broke.

- 1986 IROC Z-28 Camaro that cost $18K off the showroom floor (big bucks back in 1986). The engine blew up at 5,000 miles.

- 1987 Monte Carlo SS (the one that replaced the Z-28), bad catalytic converter straight from the factory, ignition failure(s), piece of junk.

The list goes on over several more years, only a few cars were really halfway decent including a Toyota truck and the Ford Mustang I traded in on the S80.

God willing, the S80 will prove to be something more of a long term commitment. It'd be nice to have a car last for a little longer than 3-4 years before it starts disintegrating around me.

To all of you who complain about the some of the Volvo unique "quirks", just be thankful you're not driving a 1978 Ford Granada.

"Peace"
