I continue to have a love/hate relationship with my 1999 T6. This car is incredibly comfortable, especially on a cold winter day with the seat heater on high. I've recently made an excellent sound system even more enjoyable with the addition of XM radio. The car will do just about anything you need it to do in terms of handling and performance. Its an excellent cruising machine whether commuting to work or driving long distances. It's a cruiser with uncommon utility in that it has a good sized trunk, folding rear seats, and folding front passenger seat.Unfortunately I have to pay for all of these comforts in the form of frequent visits to dealership for repairs. My S80 has only 42K miles and my transmission software has been updated numerous times and has been replaced still shudders between 2nd and 3rd. The alternator and engine mount have been replaced. The clunk noise from the front end was repaired. Now my tie rods are in need of replacement and I'm experiencing some sort of suspension noise (probably from subframe mount or sway bar bushings). There have been other repairs that I can't even recall at the present time. I bought my car used with over 17K miles so all of these problems have taken place within a short span of mileage. I have a Volvo Certified Preowned car extended warranty so the out of pocket expenses have been minimal. Unfortunately, the warranty expires this year and I am apprehensive about expenses to come. For that reason alone I will probably part with this car soon after the warranty expiration. I know that this isn't supposed to be a posting for gripes but I feel that there are many folks out there that have the same love/hate relationship with their S80 as I do.
