Enging running too cold causes 'Check Engine' light? 850 1996

Disconnecting the battery for a short while will clear the CE light if the problem isn't permanent. At least it did so on my 850 GLT -97 when the CE light lit up because of what I think was a weak battery causing low battery voltage when starting the car (engine also went into "safe mode").
