How do you reset the service light on an 850 850 1997

The proper way to reset the service reminder light on 1996, 1997 and 1998 fwd Volvos is the Assenmacher reset tool, and the best price I've seen is $135 plus shiping.

The cheap way is to buy a roll of 3M electrical tape for $1.50 at Home Depot and cut a square and place it over the light. The light goes off completely by itself after 2 minutes.

I have the 3M electrical tape but not the reset tool.
