If you clear the code (A1 socket if I remember) you will eliminate the flashing arrow. You car is showing early signs of a PNP replacement. You may get lucky and it might not occur for some time. Wait until it happens again then decide to replace it or not. Since replacing mine two years ago, I now on occasion go through the entire range of gears to give it a workout. What happens is the grease inside the mechanical part starts to collect and gums up the contacts from continuously going from park to drive.
