Should I buy an 850 t5 wagon

I have been searching this and other sites for awhile now. I am thinking of purchasing a t5 wagon and had a few questions.

I am reading horror stories about the maintenance on these cars. IE- a/c, rear main oil seal leaks, turbo seal oil leaks, wiper motors, abs, etc. Is this just a bunch of cry baby stuff or are these common problems with these cars? Was there a model year (97?) where they worked all this stuff out?

I take meticulous care of all my cars. (93 325is w/189000, nissan maxima w/ 240000) I do most, if not all, of my own maintenance.

I would use this mainly for work which is highway sales related driving, around 40k a year. I need something larger (2 kids now) yet still sporty. I prefer european refinement to japanese econobox. I love volvo's safety reputation, but now I am wondering about reliability.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Wade
