Trans. costs 850 1995

I have a 1995 850 wagon that makes a clunk when shifting between drive and reverse. The clunk only happens when the engine is warm and was told that sooner or later the trans. would need to be replace. The cost of the trans. is 1300 dollars and they are asking for 10-12 hours of labor cost and a total price of 2600 dollars. Is this a fair price???
