Tell your mechanic you are going to sell the car. And then get the timing belt/tensioner replaced. Have the mechanic make a list of "needed" things. Clean the inside and outside, wash wax and vacuum. This is part of car ownership. Add more money ($500) to the asking price to help. Would you buy a car without maint records? Do you sleep well at night? Do the right thing,
