98 S70 Keyless Remote S70 1998

I had the same problem and changed the battery on my remote but later found out that the plate of the ignition switch is not fully closing. When it does this, the car's remote will not work because car thinks the keys are still in the ignition. If so, squirt some lubrication so it closes when you pull the key out. This might not be the same problem you have but it is worth mentioning.
