One more thing you should check--the black mount with the hole thru which your antenna passes has an o-ring in its base. My antenna was not going up and down, so I bought a new one to replace it. However, when I took off the mount, I tried the antenna and it worked, then I noticed the o-ring. All of the 'up and down' of the antenna eventually works crud into the o-ring and drastically increases the friction. So, the antenna stops and/or the plastic tail breaks. Before you order a new antenna, try running the antenna with the mount removed. If it runs, replace the o-ring and you are done. If not, replace the antenna and the o-ring. And in the future, replacing that o-ring now and then should keep your antenna working indefinitely.
