Thanks everyone, for the prompt responses. My vehicle is a a Volvo Dealership and their opinion is that the battery was either not properly disconnected, shorted or reversed cables. The repairs should be completed today and I will find out whether the shop (Euro Tech-Martinsville Va) will "step up to the plate" and accept responsibility. If they do, great, but if not, I already have
an attorney friend who will be filing papers tomorrow. I wanted to get as many opinions as possible.

If anyone else has any thoughts, please forward on to me!
