So much has changed in the last couple weeks! Interesting, not surprising. I feel fortunate that I'm still drawing a paycheck. My job (in defense) has been deemed "essential". Seems silly.
I really don't want to be going to work, an office "campus" of around 3000 people, some of whom think this is "just a flu" and "if I get it, I get it". At least I was able to switch to a second shift, four to midnight, and those that I interact with do seem to be taking it seriously.
I'm thankful for online ordering and delivery of auto parts. I social distanced myself on Saturday spending the day adjusting all 24 valves on my Honda Odyssey. It was long overdue, exhausts were tiiiight! Focusing on that was a satisfying release from the stress and anxiety of this crisis.
What are y'all doing to cope?
Life partner shared this article about managing anxiety during this time: https://today.uconn.edu/2020/03/coping-covid-mastering-social-not-emotional-distancing/?utm_source=listserv&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=weekly&utm_content=uconn-today#
TLDR: find time to be mindful of your stress and feelings, acknowledge them, and take time to do whatever it is that provides calm in your life.
Stay safe out there,
Will
