On the 9th level of Radiator Hell! (LONG, FRUSTRATED RANT!) 700

As one musician to another, all this is a sign from the muse to forget about it, go back inside & practice.

I have had these sorts of troubles, where it all goes wrong. Hopefully the new radiator will be square and the sensor will fit properly. When you go to install the new one, before putting it in check the threads in the radiator. I put a bit of silicone sealer on the sensor threads before i install it - acts a lubricant & sealer. I never remove a stud without using a bunch of penetrant before hand. It's Ok to cut a bit off the hoses, just make sure you cut square. Considering all you have to do, best do it in stages, if you can. helsp keep the exasperation level down.

good luck, & good luck in Nola. I used to live & play music there.
