Well, it sounds like you were the victim of a confluence of bad luck.
The radiator in my 940 blew back in March and I ordered a replacement from eEuroparts.com. It was a nissens and it fit perfectly. I had a junked 740 at the time and noticed that the 740 had a noticably smaller radiator (making it incompatable). It might be that you were sent the wrong radiator? My replacement went in pretty fast and I was back to running w/o too much trouble. It really sound like you got a faulty radiator.

I've had many similar experiences. Amazingly frustrating and for me, they usually end with me breaking something inanimate.
