no headlights 200 1993

Look on the sides of the center console(has the ashtray on it. At the bottom there is a slotted plastic clip. Use a dime or a penney to turn them 90 degrees to release them. At the top on on each side there is a torx screw. Remove these. At the bottom of the console on the front under the glovebox(or sterio) there are 2 more torx screws: remove these. At the top of the console on the front over the bank of switches, under the tray there are 2 more torx screws that need to be removed.

Once all the screws are removed the console should pull forward with all the rocker switches attached. You don't have to disconnect the wires to the switches unless you want to completely remove the panel.

If you look up under the center vents you will see 4 silver cube relays clipped to the dash crossmember. I believe the headlight relay is the one closest to the drivers side. ( the other 3 are power window and power lock relays). The headlight wiring connector to the relay will likely be melted. You will need to clean it up or replace it. It probably melted because the relay is overheating. You can replace the relay or clean it. I just cleaned mine. You just take the cover off it and clean the relay contact. I just use fine emery paper. After you fix it turn your headlights on for 10 to 20 minutes with the relay exposed. Put your hand on the relay. If it is lukewarm its ok. If it is hot to touch you still have a resistance problem and the harness will melt again.
