260's had hydraulic clutches. If, and it's probably a big if, but if you could get all the right parts I think it would actually be pretty easy.
You'd need a different clutch pedal and several small bits of hardware in addition to the obvious hydraulics and clutch fork.
It would depend more than anything on the presence of a mount for the pivot. I just glanced inside the bell housing of an M45 out of a '79 and it has one. I'd wager it's there on an '82.
What are you using to lube? For a while now I have used Tri-Flow and the capillary tube that comes with it to lube clutch cables in the car, maybe once a year. Why remove the cable?
