Clean connectors & invest in a big tube of dielectric grease..... 200 1989

Too much emphasis on apparently mechanical troubles? Volvo electrics are sub-standard in my opinion due to non-hermetically sealed connectors and harness chafing and cause both permanent & intermittent faults. See my posts (just get list of all posts by "sutherml") on connector cleaning and fixing "hidden" chafing in the engine compartment. After cleaning connectors flood them all (even Bosch style connectors) with dielectric grease. Stopped my wife nagging me to "buy a new car"!
