If we haven't flogged it enough, I throw in my experience. The later style windshield surround is markedly quieter than the older one at highway speed. It is still available and less labor than the old style. I have found rust in 3 of the 3 240 windshields that I have been party to. My glass installer used a product called SOMACA Super-Seal Neutral cure Silicone Sealant. The product is manufactured for Sommer and Maca, 5501 W. Ogden Ave., Chicago, Ill. 60650.
