I see 2 options.

1. As suggested, buy a beater. But buy a cheap beater that looks like hell but has good mechanicals to use as a parts car.

2. Sell it as is. Unless you have a parts car and a willing mechanic it will cost you a mint to bring it up to snuff. It is a 29 year old car with 275k so it isn't worth investing much money into it. Then use your money to buy a nicer one...:)
