Did you block the brake pedal down a little before you opened the brake lines, as shown below in a photo that was shamelessly filched from a recent post by Art Benstein?

If not, and the Master Cylinder went dry, then you will need to do a complete 4-wheel bleed, as outlined in the manuals.
