I have personally not seen a two tone 240. That being said, should you decide to repaint the car, the remaining clear coat will have to be removed and then the car has to be primed and block sanded... this is the biggest part of the job.
If the old clear coat is not removed, the new paint will peel as well.
The reason the clear coat fails is that it suffers from UV exposure due to it's composition, it gets tiny pin holes that allow moisture to seep in under the clear coat and causes it's bonds to the paint to fail.
