Cold Weather Starting 140-160

If it's hard to start at those temps, I'd say you have other tune-up issues.

Cold backfiring? Is htat out the carbs? It can be less than good for them. I expect if you're running strombergs, it might blow out the rubber diaphragms.. I've blown the 'bell' off SUs before, stripping the three screw holes.

And of course, that's not to mention the potential fire hazard.

Yea, backfires are not good.
