Thanks, Matt. It starts right up at these temps (but is probably due for a tune up). I think I take off too soon and am in too much of a hurry to shove the choke back in. From now on, I'll leave the choke out for a while until it warms more fully. Yeah, I'll keep an eye on the backfires and avoid them in the future.
