64, PV544 Door Window Elevator Channel 444-544

Does anyone have a tip on how to install a new elevator channel under the glass. With a new rubber strip, I can't see how this can be forced on the glass.
I am trying to do this with the glass inside the door because I couldn't see how the glass with the channel already attached could be put back.

Everything has been removed once to install new side channel guides and fuzzies so if the glass has to come out, no big deal.
Much appreciated,
Dennis

I'm sure there is a proper way of doing this . I just haven't heard about it. This summer with the hot, moist weather my new fuzzies swelled up enough to hold the glass in place when I cranked down the window, and the channel went down by itself. My solution was to unscrew the channel from the cable, scrape the rubber insert as clean as I could, anoint it with gasket adhesive, let it dry a bit (not too much), re-attach it to the cable, and force the glass back into it. I let it sit for an hour or so like that, and It's been working fine ever since.

In the end, I took the glass and channel to a Auto glass shop. They agreed that the rubber strip was too thick, used one of theirs and put the channel on for me. The best part is that it was free, how about that!

The glass has to come out in a 122. I imagine it is the same in yours.
The channel is a tight pinch fit over the glass and the rubber. I would
imagine some rubber lube would help. It probably takes about 50# push to
get it into the channel. Another way is to stick it into the channel with
silicone adhesive. I've done this with a vent window but not a regular one.

Thanks,
I forgot to mention a piece of flexible thin plastic material came with the rubber insert for the channel. It is sort of nubby on one side and the other side fairly smoothe. It is the same size as the rubber insert.
Any idea where this chould go? (be kind, now)

Dennis
