940 1993 non turbo wont start but will turn.

where is fuel pump?

where is fuse box?

where is fuel relay?

are these primary culprits? I am familiar with 240 but not 940s

1. The fuel pump is: Bosch System - under floor and in tank just like the 240; Regina System - in tank only. The Bosch system spark coil has the familiar cylinder shaped coil and an AMM, the Regina system coil is combined with the ignition stage and is mounted on the driver's side, looks sort of square there is no AMM.

2. The fuses are behind the ash tray

3.Most relays are in a tray behind the fuses. The fuel system relay is the left relay in the middle row. To reach these, pry off the cover on the cigar lighter and remove the two screws behind it. The lighter and its box slide out.

I'm new to my 940 and more up on 240s also. I had an intermittent no-start and I believe the crank position sensor was the cause. Other common causes are the fuel system relay (like the 240, try resoldering) and the "radio suppression relay" (bad name). There isn't room here to go into how to check these. I got great help from the 700/900 FAQ. Click on FEATURES above then click on the FAQ. In the FAQ you can find references to no-start problems and also where to find parts in your car. Good luck, it's a nice car.

Try to see if its spark or fuel. For spark remove the wire from the coil going into the distributor and have someone crank the engine. Ground the wire somewhere and if you see spark then it might be fuel. Dont touch the end of the wire you might get shock.

I tried that (checking for spark) when my 940 died. I had no spark, so I thought it was the coil. After going to the dealer to buy a coil (lucky for me, they had none) I spoke to the mechanic there who said is not the coil, but probably the crank sensor. Replaced the crank sensor, and I had spark, and it started.
