So, my 145 was running well enough -- till I started working on it. Sigh.
Installed a Pertronix kit on Saturday. I can coax the car into running poorly, and only with a lot of choke and 25 btdc. The plugs are carbon fouled when I check them.
I assume that if I get a spark at the plug while static timing it that the Pertronix is working, yes? The spark seemed a little feeble -- not much snap to it. Could this be a bad coil?
Maybe I should put the points and condensor back in as a diagnostic, but the thought of forcing that little rubber grommet through the aperture in the distributor is dissuading me.
