760 ignition switch 700 1989

My ignition switch in my 89 760 has failed and the key will not turn. I have reviewed the FAQ regarding switch removal but none of the instructions seem to address my configuration (even though they make direct reference to this model, it dosen't seem correct). I have the tilt steering wheel and the ignition switching is mounted on the yoke that the steering wheel is mounted to. This yoke is basically a one piece casting with the only visible interuption being what appears to be a roll pin mounted in the side of the cylindrical portion of the casting that houses the ignition switch. This pin is located directly behind the steering wheel.

My question is, can I drill out this pin to remove the switch or am I going to have to demo the switch to get it out?

Thanks

Steve
