Been there, done that. If you can get the key to position 2, then you can just press in the pin and pull the lock barrel out. The peg is attached to a flat spring and you need to use a Dremmel type high speed grinder to get it all out. If you put my username (dvbydt) into the search at the top of the page there is a picture of my efforts. Since you are going to have to fit a new barrel, it might be easier to drill out the lock with a 3/8 diameter drill, pick out the bits, then you can push in the pin.
