Battery corrosion at negative terminal; time to replace battery?

The evil greenish/white acid dust once again seeps from beneath the surface next to the temple of negative terminus. The village elders must be alerted to this unfortunate event.

Anyhoo, does this mean that the battery is on its last legs? Is there anything else I can do other than bathe it with baking soda water? It's an Interstate battery if that matters.
