We've all had our odometer problems with our 200s,and if you haven't,you will.Mine broke at 173,999, which seemed oddly coincidental that there was about to be a big digit rollover. I finally got with "odometer gears "guy and replaced little broken gear in odom. and every thing was fine, until I got to 178,999 mi.odom stopped again. I took it apart, nothing broken, but turning odom gear backwards, I reversed mileage back a little and brought it back to 178,999,where something seemed totally jammed. Now the shaft that rolls the digit wheels ends with a worm gear that controls the idiot light light switch that everyone seems to have so much trouble with anyway. I removed the gear on the idiot lgt. switch, and my odom is working as smoothly as a new volvo roller bearing. Could this slight mechanical resistance of turning that switch be the source of these odometer failures? Hope this is helpful.
