I just bought a 1990 760turbo wagon to use as a beater/utility vehicle. The headliner is in awful condition - as in, it is not even attached to the roof. It is only held up by being tucked into the trim panels along the top.
For my budget and needs for the vehicle, I'm not interested in spending very much to take this to an upholstery shop or buying the kit I saw on ipd. All I really want is to see out the rearview mirror.
My low-to-no cost options that would look ghetto but serve my purposes are as follows:
1)Remove headliner entirely rear of the sunroof. A razor blade and about 30 seconds of my time would be all I need.
2)Buy a can of spray headliner adhesive. Cut the headliner in half down the middle of the car lengthwise from sunroof to tailgate. Glue one half of the headliner back up to the ceiling, the glue up the other half (it would overlap quite a bit, but I don't really care about that)
Option 2 would cost money, but I'm not that strapped for cash that a $10 can of spray adhesive would mean I couldn't pay my rent or anything. I think option 2 would look better, but I'm not sure if it would even work. Can anyone comment on this?
Thanks,
Mac
