Why should I not do this to my headliner? 700 1990

Hey Mac,

Trust me, you don't want to just pull the fabric down. Like Will740 said, it makes a quite a mess. I know from experience. We had an old Buick with the same problem, so we tore the headliner down, and sticky bits of foam went everywhere. If you were tall enough to have your head brush against the roof, you would get bits of foam in your hair. It stayed like that as long as we had that car. The headliner that is, not my hair... :) I understand that you don't want to spend $100+ on that kit. I suggest that you get the headliner material from a online upholstery shop. I found this one care of another brickboarder:

http://www.yourautotrim.com/auothead.html

They have the headliner material for about $8.00 a yard. You'll need 4 yards of it. They have a deal with 5 yards for $34.75. Jo-Ann fabric stores usually have this material too, so if you have a store nearby, check them out. Make sure you get good glue. 3M makes a spray adhesive for headliners: its regarded as the best for this application. Check out the instructions online (IPD) and see what you're getting into. More time consuming than difficult. Well worth doing IMO.

Regards, Jon 'Uncle Olaf'
