Continuing saga - No compression in #1 140-160

I got my compression tester today.

#1 - 50
#2 - 180
#3 - 155
#4 - 175

I knew something was wrong there, I was just hoping I wouldn't find out much from this test. For once, I was actually hoping for electrical problems in a Volvo.

This kind of meshes with something I noticed when I changed out the valve cover gasket though. I thought I got a good whiff of fuel when I had the cover off. Still, I'm a bit surprised. Obviously the mileage isn't what I wanted, but the car feels pretty healthy for the 110hp(ish) I expected.

So my guess is that it's the rings. I live in an apartment, so any fix is going to have to be something that can be wrapped up inside a week due to having to accomplish this on the street. I have as long as I want to plan it, since obviously it still runs.

How heavy is the B20 shortblock? I was thinking I could pull it out piece by piece, and install a different motor the same way (since there are a few advertised locally right now).

Thanks!
