So, I've been working on this idle issue and there is agreement that I should swap in a known good ECU because the issues are pointing towards a damaged idle circuit.

A seller on ebay with a unit for sale was recommended here. Very low price and very tempting. However, I have been dealing with Voluparts in Atlanta and have been more than happy with them. They are very expensive for this part compared to the ebay part but offer a 90 day warranty and a 90% buy back if I misdiagnosed this. That's very generous and they also state that the part has been tested. I'm not a scientist but without knowing for sure that the part I'm substituting in does NOT have the same problem, I can't be fully sure of the test results. I can afford the more expensive one but I also like to not spend the money if I don't have to. (don't we all?) I'm glad it's a holiday so I can think about this until Wednesday.
