Synthetic ATF

Recently, I read an article about advantage of using synthetic ATF. It states it will lower the operation temperature and may double the transmission life. I would like to switch to synthetic, but I do not to screw up my transmission because I will not completely remove my old fluid (I will remove old fluid from dipstick, maybe 2.5 quarters).

I am wondering if anyone has experienced the compatibility problem between Mobile 1 synthetic and the conventional transmission fluid. Thanks.
