I agree with Mike--you can flush it all out. Otherwise, pull the drain plug on the transmission pan and let it drain out (easier that sucking up the dipstick tube).

Any of the synthetic ATFs should be totally compatible with the non-synthetic. I usually drain what I can, replace with fresh synthetic (AMSOIL), drive a while to mix it all, then repeat the procedure another 3 times. This means most of the lube will be fresh synthetic.

Do your power steering with the same lube the same way.
