What with the warm weather here in the east the past few days, when the outfit I ordered windows (endless apartment renovation) from in Albany called to say they were there, but he didn't have any deliveries coming to NYC for 6 weeks, I jumped at the chance to drive up there (3 hours one way) and pick em up myself.
Long story short, I'm hearing a muffler sound which tells me I'm going to be spending some time under the car before the winter, and sooner would be better. I rebuilt a B20 (E head,SUs, Dcam) 2 years ago and have been driving it ('67 122 2 door) with the stock dualdown pipe 1-3/4" system ever since, and promised myself that when the current system bought it, I'd move up to 2". Stainless sounds like...forever? a good idea? needless extravagance?
1) Has anyone out there experience with the Swedish Classics $449 (you've got to be kidding!!!) 2" stainless system, or any other, cheaper (make that less expensive) 2" system?
2)How did it go together - all the bends in the right places? I've heard that stainless' major drawback is cracking if stressed - Again, any experience of this?
3)I'm not going to live forever, but (and so) is stainless a waste of money? Good idea/bad idea?
muchas gracias
