Replaced engine harness, no start now 1986 240 DL

Hi,

I just replaced the engine harness for a 1986 240 DL, I did not replace the ignition harness.

After completing the replacement, I get no start. All the lights go on for the dash, (oil, park, brake, some other thinggy). But no turn or anything. Just barely even a small click. Before with the old deteriorated engine harness, the car would turn over fine and start, but just run really rough (since so many wires were crossed from lack of insulation i suppose)

This has me very worried, and after cruising through posts here I find one related to this like (about another car)

"Your car has the two smaller spade lugs on the starter, but uses only one, as the 1983 240 B23F has no ballast resistor. If the yellow lead from the harness is connected to the "wrong" lug, turning the key to "start" gains only silence. This, however, may not be your problem."

I am wondering: where is the starter?? I know little of the car, but the only yellow wire on the engine harness that I can know of was kind of a tight stretch to some tab that sticks out of the engine on the right side under the intake manifold. Where is this starter thing?? I suppose that it is on the ignition harness?? I guess that I should replace that as well ( I have one from the junk yard) Should I open it up and ensure no bad wires or just do continuity test on it. ( since I can disect the old one for which ends are what)

On another path, I briefly touched the red alternator cable to the casing and caused a small spark before remembering to unhook the battery cables. That doesn't cause my Jetronic box to blow up does it?? I see no blown fuses in the fuse box.

Thanks in advance!
