Orange paint and side chrome 140-160

I'm going to take the plunge and start restoring my 145, at least
if it doesn't seem too sick once I strip some of the insides and paint
off to see how bad things are under it all.

I'm planning on taking everything (including glass out of the doors,
the doors off of the car, removing the dashboard, putting the wires
inside plastic and such) out of the car before I send it to the bodyshop
so that I don't have to pay someone else to do something I think I could
do as well and lots less expensively.

So -- two questions:
Is there a proper orange for a 145? I think there should be more
orange cars on the road. If there is one that is correct for a 68, that
would be great, but I'd be okay with any reasonably proper orange for
any of the 140s.

Also, from wandering around salvage yards, I have decided that I
really much prefer the later style black and chrome side moulding instead
of the single piece thin stuff that's correct to a 145. Firstly, the
correct stuff seems to collect logs of garbage under the trim, also it
is impossible to pull off without ruining it. I think I may be able to
get it off without messing it up if I break the plastic that holds it to
the door, but even so the correct stuff is usually thrashed (and it
is thrashed on my car. The stuff that is on later 240s seems like it
offers more protection from door dings as well as some protection from
stuff getting behind it.

From my measuring, it seems as though I could use the door trim from
a 242 on the front fenders of a 140; I can use the rest of the trim from
a 245 without modification.

So, does anyone know if the chrome trim on the side of a 242's doors is
about the same length as a 140's front fender trim?

thanks,
chris
